There are so many romantic destinations around the world. Below I share with you some of my favorites and the reasons why they are so special. They each have their own charm and special attractions.
Overwater Bungalows and Tranquility...
A tropical nation in the Indian Ocean made up of over one thousand islands. The Maldives are known for their beaches, blue lagoons and extensive reefs. Arriving in the capital of Male you will be whisked away to your resort via a seaplane or speedboat!
If you are seeking true relaxation, water sports, privacy in your own over water villa with plunge pool, fine dining and pampering – look no further than the Maldives. Some hotels are surrounded by coral reefs so you can jump in from your villa for the most incredible snorkeling experience.
Every resort in the Maldives is its own private island, and with over 100 to choose from the only problem is selecting where you want to stay. These luxury resorts offer the most discerning traveler much pampering and attention, from personal butlers and private lap pools to in-room massages and pillow menus.
Adventure and Nature...
There are few places in the world that can offer the incredible diversity offered by Costa Rica. This small country in Central America is only 150 miles wide by 250 miles long and offers immense diversity in scenery, climate, and vacation pleasures.
The wildlife is one of the most amazing things about this beautiful country. Driving down the roads make sure to look up at the trees where you will find families of howler monkeys, sloths, many birds (the toucans were my favorite!), frogs, and iguanas to name a few.
Costa Rica has 14 active and non-active volcanoes. There are stunning views of these volcanoes and if you’re lucky enough to visit these areas you will most likely soak in the hot springs created by their heat.
The beautiful and lush forests in Costa Rica will leave you breathless. Hike through the rain forest and cloud forest and you’ll be amazed by the plants and wildlife.
With so many activities to enjoy including zip-lining, whitewater rafting, horseback riding, hiking, exploring the forests, mountain biking, surfing, sports fishing, and snorkeling, there is something to appeal to everyone!
Waterfalls and Spectacular Scenery...
Hawaii is one of those destinations that will leave you speechless. The overall vibe, spectacular scenery and scents will make you feel like you're in paradise. With six islands to visit you will find your favorite!
Luxury resorts offer impeccable service where you can lounge on the beach all day. For the more adventurous, swim with giant sea turtles, go zip-lining, or visit the summit of an extinct volcano and bike ride down!
Hawaii offers endless outdoor activities, including hiking and both ocean and river kayaking, snorkeling, and helicopter adventures to name a few. On the smaller, less inhabited islands you can enjoy charming plantation towns, secluded beaches, and miles of rugged back country to explore on horseback or by four-wheel-drive vehicles.
Hawaii offers some of the world's most spectacular scenery, with towering sea cliffs, lush rainforests, steep canyons, unspoiled white sand beaches, waterfalls, and smoldering volcanoes with lava flows. The sunsets are some of the most beautiful in the world, with bright hues of orange, red and purple. I promise, Hawaii won't disappoint!
Seaside Villages, Food and Wine...
Home to breathtaking architecture and some true cultural treasures. Portugal's greatest attraction is its gorgeous coastline, and in particular, the southern region where an array of top-class beach resorts (once sleepy fishing villages) provide luxurious sea side accommodations.
Portugal's cities are full of charm with art treasures, medieval cathedrals, museums, and narrow streets with wrought-iron balconies. You will find some of the world's best and freshest seafood in Portugal and don't forget to explore their incredibly beautiful wine region.
The Douro Valley is a designated UNESCO World Heritage region and one of the top wine regions in the world. This area runs along the Douro River with mountain ranges of tumbled granite creating the perfect environment for wine producing grapes.
History, great food, stunning beaches and cobblestone villages make Portugal a fascinating European vacation destination.
Oceanside Dining and Pristine Beaches...
Looking for a tranquil island in the Caribbean to bask in the sun and enjoy the beautiful crystal clear waters and powdery soft sand? The island of Anguilla might have just what you need…
Anguilla is a very relaxing island with 33 beaches, many beach bars and restaurants. If a shopping spree is on your wish list you won’t accomplish that here. There are no large shopping areas in Anguilla, primarily just the hotel shops and a few you may find around Sandy Ground. You’ll need to take the ferry over to St. Maarten for some of the best duty free shopping in the Caribbean.
One of my most memorable experiences in Anguilla is that almost every single restaurant sits right on the beach so you can enjoy the sounds of the ocean during every meal!
Far from the crowds, Anguilla is the perfect retreat for an indulgent, exclusive getaway for the discerning traveler, dedicated to the simple pleasures of basking in the sun, taking sunset strolls, sailing and snorkeling.
