WHAT DOES LUXURY MEAN TO YOU?

I often wonder what clients think when they see the Header on the homepage of my website “Luxury Travel Designer”. It might scare some people away because most immediately think “expensive”. But ‘luxury’ doesn’t always translate into more expensive. The important thing

is the value you are getting with your vacation experience. When I first launched by company almost 5 years ago (I can't believe it's almost 5 years!!), I thought I could help anyone with any budget. I quickly learned that was not the route I wanted to take. I learned that when a client had a very tight budget for a specific destination, I created an itinerary within their budget but they weren't happy with the accommodations. So in the end they would always remember me for recommending that hotel that was not in an ideal location or with the not so great AC, etc.., even though it was within their budget. So let’s take a look at a few topics related to ‘luxury’ when it comes to your vacation. Accommodations – This is one of the most important aspects of your trip. Everyone is very unique when it comes to their accommodations. Some prefer a large hotel where others would only stay in a very small boutique property with a local feel. I only work with 4 and 5 star properties, as they offer great service, amenities, and the best locations, because I know you wouldn't be happy with anything less. So it really is all about the value you are getting and not the cost. Day Excursions / Experiences - In my opinion, this is just as important as your accommodations. It's critical to understand my clients' interests and preferences in order to include unique experiences in their itineraries. It may be that they love adventure activities so a hike along the Amalfi Coast with a private guide would be perfect. Or perhaps they love food and wine so they would love a day out visiting vineyards in Santorini. Whatever your interests are, you should enjoy some amazing local experiences at your destination. Ground Transportation – Imagine you arrive at an airport in Europe after an overnight flight. How great is it to have your driver waiting for you to whisk you away to your accommodations? A private airport transfer is key to starting your vacation no matter what your destination is. That is luxury and comfort! So Luxury does not have to be the most expensive Four Seasons hotel in the world, but it does mean a very comfortable experience where every component of your trip is custom crafted to your preferences, hobbies, and interests.
