Is food one of the most important things you consider when selecting a destination? Do you plan your days around where you're going to eat? No matter how spectacular the views of the Eiffel Tower or the Amalfi Coast, what some of us remember most were the special meals during a vacation. I love sightseeing and immersing myself in new destinations but a really important part of that is enjoying the food and wine in the cities I'm visiting. My criteria for selecting a vacation spot... weather, activities, and the food & wine! So if food and wine are as important to you as they are to me, you don't want to miss visiting these top 3 European cities. They are a foodie's dream...

Truffle meal in Istria

Istria, Croatia - Croatia's Northern Peninsula is a Top Culinary Destination often referred to as the 'Tuscany of Croatia', Istria has spectacular hilltop villages, vineyards on rolling hills, and Italian culture with many culinary delights.Continental and Mediterranean cuisine come together in Istria: fresh fish, pasta with local truffles, game dishes, and pork and sausages. Some of the fabulous experiences in this region are truffle hunting, vineyard visits and tastings, along with a spectacular coastline to enjoy the beach and boating.

It is quite stunning and I fell in love with San Sebastian from the moment I arrived. This picturesque city has beautiful stone lined pedestrian streets filled with boutique shops, restaurants, and tapas bars. Along with the amazing culinary scene, San Sebastian offers a vibrant and beautiful beachfront – Playa La Concha. It is hard not to fall in love with San Sebastian, the food, the views, the beach… it is one of Europe’s loveliest cities.
