TRAVEL CALENDAR: WHEN AND WHERE TO GO

Did you ever start planning a vacation and then realized it was rainy season at your destination and totally not the right time to visit? There are so many spectacular places to visit around the world but they all don't have perfect weather year round. One of the first things I discuss with clients are the destinations that would work for the time of year they plan on traveling. Below is a summary of the best destinations to visit during different times of the year.

DECEMBER - FEBRUARY

Thailand

SOUTHEAST ASIA does not have perfect weather all year but this is the time to go. Consider exploring Thailand or for a relaxing getaway with spectacular scenery spend some time in the Maldives. It will be warm and dry, yet not too hot and you'll avoid monsoon season which is from May to October.

CENTRAL AMERICA has perfect weather this time of year. With a rainy season from May to November, countries like Costa Rica are more lush and beautiful in these months following the rain. Enjoy waterfalls, hot springs, and adventure activities like rafting and zip lining.

HAWAII has perfect weather year-round but what you also get to experience during the winter months are the amazing hump back whales. Hawaii is like no other place in the world. There are six islands you can visit and each one is very unique, with its own personality, activities, and adventures.

MARCH - MAY

Paris

EUROPE's weather is spectacular this time of year. There is no better time to wander the streets of Rome, Madrid, or Paris. Make your vacation a multi-destination trip where you'll continue from these main cities to visit off-the-beaten path medieval towns full of charm and history. This is the perfect time of year to explore most of Europe. Tulip time in the Netherlands peaks in April. You will experience the incredible sight of millions of flowers all blooming along the countryside. CARIBBEAN beaches are warm year-round and getting to them this time of year will be such a pleasure, especially if you're escaping from the winter. The weather is just perfect before the very hot and humid months of summer. Some of my favorite islands are Turks & Caicos, Anguilla, St. Lucia, and St. John, USVI.

JUNE - AUGUST

Africa

Experience AFRICA during the summer months... enjoy the diversity of Cape Town and the nearby Winelands, then on to a Safari in the Serengeti, followed by relaxation for a few nights in the Seychelles. That just sounds heavenly! A MEDITERRANEAN Cruise during the summer months is an unforgettable experience. The Mediterranean offers warm breezes, sparkling deep blue waters, fresh seafood, and spectacular seaside towns. Visit the Italian Riviera or the Greek Islands, itinerary choices are plentiful! The spectacular Adriatic Sea along CROATIA's coast is best enjoyed during the summer months. This European nation with more than 1,000 miles of Adriatic coastline offers an incredible diversity of experiences. Quaint Mediterranean towns, beautiful islands, national parks with the most beautiful waterfalls, 10 UNESCO World Heritage Sites, wine regions, and a fantastic culinary scene await you in Croatia.

SEPTEMBER - NOVEMBER

Bordeaux

EUROPE is much less crowded this time of year and it is a perfect time to visit wine regions like Bordeaux. It's also a wonderful time to enjoy a river cruise along Burgundy and Provence or on the Danube River. The colors are spectacular and the weather is very pleasant. FRENCH POLYNESIA's dry season ends in November so this is a great time to go as it's the end of their peak season. From end of November to April it is very hot, humid, and rainy. Bora Bora is one of the best known islands for its overwater bungalows and romantic landscape. But there are several others worth visiting. I hope I've inspired you to travel with some of these ideas. If you'd like help in planning your trips I would love to work with you.
