Sitting on the Adriatic Sea, Croatia has so much to offer… history, breathtaking scenery, spectacular islands, exquisite food and wine, UNESCO World Heritage Sites, and an upscale culinary scene (several Michelin starred restaurants and many with Michelin recommendations). Below are some of my favorites in this small country with so much character.
Walled City…
Dubrovnik is one of the world’s most magical walled cities, encircled by massive stone walls from the 16thcentury and surrounded by the sea. One unique thing about this city is that it sits on the Adriatic Sea and as you walk around the walls you will be mesmerized by views all around you.
Islands…
Croatia has over 1,000 islands! These islands are lined with vineyards, olive groves and lavender fields, with the most stunning hues of aquamarine waters surrounding them. Lively harbors, gourmet restaurants, and beautiful sunsets make the Croatan islands unforgettable.
Coastal Towns…
The charming coastal towns in Northern Croatia will always hold a special place in my heart. Wandering the narrow cobblestone streets with colorful stone houses, bright shutters, and beautiful harbors is absolutely magical.
