The Prettiest Boutique Hotels
There are many ways to travel with many types of accommodations. For me, the hotels are part of the overall experience. Staying in luxury boutique hotels sets the tone for a journey of refined indulgence and intimate elegance.
From the moment you step into the lobby, you are enveloped in an atmosphere of exclusivity and sophistication with an unparalleled level of personalized service.
Below are 5 of the prettiest (and some of my personal favorite), boutique hotels around the world…
Argos – Cappadocia, Turkey
Once a monastery, the rooms at this spectacular hotel are spread over several natural stone buildings. With a mix of local stones, wood and modern Turkish furnishings, Argos is pure sophistication. Wake up in the mornings to a breathtaking view of the hot air balloons dancing in the sky, unwind at the pool, enjoy the spa and restaurants, or take a stroll to the local village. After visiting the hotel and enjoying a wonderful dinner in their private wine cellar, I am dreaming of returning to this unique and amazing property.
Palacio Villapanes – Seville, Spain
I recently spent 4 nights at this lovely boutique property and highly recommend it. From the soothing atmosphere in the private courtyard out back lined with orange trees, the attentive service by all the staff, to the impressive lobby and rooms, this hotel is quite a gem. Palatial vibes with a sense of relaxation and intimacy is what you can expect here. Yet this elegant baroque palace is steps away from the heart of Seville with its wonderful restaurants and attractions.
Palazzo Maresgallo - Lecce, Italy
During a recent trip to the Puglia region of Italy I had the honor of spending two hours with the proud owner of this spectacular restored palace. She showed me every nook and cranny of the palazzo. I felt her love and dedication to what she and her husband created. Every space has been meticulously designed and exquisitely decorated. Guests have access to a lovely rooftop terrace where the owners mingle at night offering delicious drinks. A stay here is magical and an excellent way to enjoy the baroque city of Lecce.
Passalacqua – Lake Como, Italy
Until recently, this breathtaking property on the shores of Lake Como was a private villa. In June 2022, the hotel opened its doors and has since been voted many times as ‘best hotel in the world’. The entire feel here is of staying at a private villa, the reception feels like a living room, the bar area has plush furnishings offering a very warm and inviting atmosphere. And with only 24 rooms, the service is intimate and personalized. Lake Como is one of the most beautiful places in the world and this incredible boutique hotel completes the experience.
Royal Mansour – Marrakech, Morocco
In the heart of Marrakech, Royal Mansour offers travelers the unique concept of a medina within a medina. Each area of the hotel has been designed to intuitively take guests on a sensory journey. The design incorporates the elements of an authentic medina, where guests can stroll around and discover sensual delights. The rooms and suites have been replaced by luxurious riads, and the corridors by winding alleyways. The elegant décor, rooftop terrace with views of the Atlas Mountains, the private pool, and the impeccable service are a complete immersion into the Moroccan lifestyle.
Staying at boutique hotels is about the sense of discovery and enchantment that comes with exploring new destinations. They bring the destination’s history to life, making you feel like a cherished guest in their beautiful spaces.
