5 Unique Experiences in Italy

Are you looking for some unique ideas of what to do in Italy? Have you visited the major cities of Rome, Florence and Venice and are looking to return to this beautiful country? There are so many unique activities that most travelers don’t experience on a first visit. Below are 5 special experiences you may want to incorporate into your next trip to Italy.

Spectacular sunflower fields in Tuscany, Italy

Experience Sunflower Fields

Nothing can brighten up your day more than a spectacular field of sunflowers. Did you know that if you visit the Italian countryside (Tuscany & Umbria), between mid-June and early August you can experience these dreamy sunflower fields? Our local drivers/guides are experts in their regions. They will know exactly where to take you to find these picturesque fields. Often times the fields have beautiful villas and cypress trees in the background… the views are magical!

Tour the Lamborghini Factory

Visit the Lamborghini factory where you will be escorted by an expert guide. Behind every masterpiece there is dedication, passion, and the utmost attention to detail. You will step inside a unique experience where craftsmanship and technology meet in the assembly of these vehicles (they are still manufactured by hand), in the crafting of interiors, of the leather, the chassis and the body, of the engine, the transmission, the suspension, the brakes, and the finished car itself. At the end of the guided tour you will have the chance to visit the Lamborghini Museum.

Visit a Parmesan Dairy Farm

Visit artisanal cheese makers and learn the time-honoured process that has remained virtually unchanged since the Benedictine monks began making Parmigiano Reggiano cheese in the 13th century. Depending on the dairy schedule, you may be able witness the process first-hand. A tasting follows, where you can sample the Queen of Cheese in various stages of aging as it goes from a sweet, creamy cheese at 12 months to a rich and crumbly delicacy at 36 months.

Private Bike Tour through the Vineyards

There is no right or wrong way to experience Tuscany but imagine the most scenic ride as you bike through vineyards and olive groves with your private guide. The ride is an unforgettable experience through the Tuscan countryside. You will stop for a private winery tour including an exquisite lunch with wine tastings, then continue as you stop in lovely Tuscan villages to enjoy a gelato or delicious prosciutto and cheese.

Breathtaking scenery of mountains and lake in the Dolomites, Italy

Experience the Italian Alps

This region is still a hidden gem mostly visited by Italians. The beauty and diversity of the landscape of the Dolomites will enchant you in every season. And you can’t argue with great food and wine, the warmth of the Italian people, and the breathtaking scenery of the region. The only question remaining is what not to miss during an Italian Dolomites vacation? Enjoy skiing and the Christmas markets in winter, enjoy hikes and Braies lake in summer, or visit one of the Messner Mountain museums for culture fans. The land of the Dolomites is diverse ... a small patch of earth where you will find everything to make your active getaway a perfect experience.
